Symbolism & Representation by Thea Spyer Thea Spyer was a renowned clinical psychologist with a long and successful career, providing care for hundreds of New Yorkers, many of whom identified as LGBTQ. In 1965, Thea Spyer and Edith Windsor met and fell in love. Edith later won a landmark case with the Supreme Court, granting same-sex married couples federal recognition. Rainbow - representing inclusivity and diversity, an all-embracing image of love and friendship. Over the past 40-plus years, the rainbow has become a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community, representing their fight for equal rights and acceptance globally. It's also a celebration of beauty and diversity. "Pride is being proud of who you are. It's about not worrying what others will think of you or being discriminated against based on your race, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation. Pride means acceptance and authenticity of self." - unknown I create these beautiful Birch Wood Earrings from start to finish. I begin the process by drawing each individual piece on my iPad to create an SVG file. After I've created the file, I use my at-home laser cutter to cut each piece out of Birch Wood. Once the pieces are cut, I individually hand paint and stain them. This collection took me 2 full months to complete and the Anastasia Collection symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. Each pair of earrings comes with either Sterling Silver Hooks or 18K Plated hypoallergenic metal.
